Why You Must Travel To The Galapagos Islands…A Photo Essay

Ecuador’s famed archipelago was known to early explorers as Las Islas Encantadas (The Enchanted Isles).  Although the name has changed, the Galapagos Islands have lost none of their power to captivate visitors today.  This remote, seemingly barren chain of islands is home to an astounding variety of wildlife – including many species found nowhere else on Earth.  It remains one of the best places in the world for interacting with animals at close range, both above and below the surface of the sea.  Uniquely, the animals of the Galapagos don’t view humans as a threat so visitors can get very close to them for some truly unforgettable experiences.
