Postcards from… Mexico

Postcards from… Mexico

I took this photo while walking on be beautiful beach near the village of Chuburná Puerto, on the northwest coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.  The water here changes color depending on the time of year, from blue, to emerald to aquamarine and turquoise.

This coast, near the beautiful colonial city of Merida sees few tourists.  There are several small, safe and very peaceful fishing villages along the coast where cheap, fresh seafood is in abundance.  This is a lovely area that makes a fine day-trip from Merida to experience a taste of the ‘real’ Mexico.

Read more about this, and other areas of Mexico on our website’s Mexico page.

Many of Mexico's most beautiful beaches are found away from the tourist resorts
